One of "those" days...

Sometimes I feel just like this when starting another week of treatment. On the one paw, it's 22 down, just 19 to go. On the other paw, it's 22 down, and 19 more of these pesky treatments to endure. Obviously time to take a deep breath! LOL

I suspect some of you at home are feeling like our friend to the left because of your weather. Compared to the weather here in the summer, yours sounds mahvelous ! Your tomatoes must be ripening up, as well as the rest of those wonderful garden delights. Man, do we miss those raspberries! But I've got to tell you: they have the world's best peaches in this area. I don't believe I knew that a peach could be so "peachy." It reminds me of the bananas in Indonesia or the pineapples in Haiti. When a fruit is grown in its element, it's like a tomato ripened on the vine; it's just plain better!

It may be hot where you are. Your "situation" may be lasting longer than you'd like. Just don't forget: "This is the day that the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it!

Bless you, my friends,

Bill

Bill,
I can feel your anguish in your words and the pictures you put up. But there are a lot of us here that are praying, encouraging you and hoping that as the days wind down, you will soon be able to draw that tongue back up into your mouth. Keep in mind that this is merely a moment of time (in your words, “a season”) in your life, and before you know it, you will be able to rejoice that you’ll be heading back home. We all love you and are thankful that during your time away, the good Lord is healing you so that you can continue to serve Him, renewed and refreshed.

May His peace in this time bring you strength everlasting.

Stay strong my brother,
Tim

Bill, we at Feed My Sheep were just about to give in to the summer blahs, like the friend you pictured. Until....the first night of VBS!!
Dude, we had 17 kids, three momma's and two babies join us for a bus ride, pizza dinner and a full night of VBS!! We brought with the group a special little guy named "Cameron." Cameron is autistic. He woke us all up to his need and we found our hearts challenged by his need. Some of us concluded that he was beyond our helping him. We gathered for prayer and God spoke to our hearts. We decided that "no child left behind" was key to our helping Cameron. We determined that we would all fall in love with Cameron and help him enjoy and engage with the rest of the VBS week. He is a handful!!
When we arrived back at Green Tree his mom asked if he got in trouble? I told her; "no, not at all, he's just busy." She stated that "Well, you know he's autistic?" I said "Oh, sure, well can he come back with us tomorrow?" She said "See you at 5:15"
Bill, after a full year of working, ministering and being in the Green Tree, we are soo blessed that God would send us His special, dirty, unchurched kids to come with us to this VBS adventure. Yee-haw!! We are armored up and ready for day two. We thank Donald, Elizabeth and all the volunteers for allowing us to bring this rag tag group. What a joy we have.
In Jesus still

Pastor Bill,
A song the kids sing at church was brought to my mind after reading your entry today....Be strong and courageous, do not be terrified, do not be DISCOURAGED, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go! Joshua 1:9.

Hang in there, you are more than half way through treatment now. The Lord has been using you and Betty for His glory in the new relationships you've formed; just think how much more He will use you in this second half of treatment?!

My heart was filled with joy after reading Tim's post on the child Cameron. This is very special and while I don't know what VBS is all about it sounds like it is a great pursuit.
